General Jay Garner - Chairman of the Board of Directors
General (U.S. Army, Retired) Jay Garner’s military career culminated with his being Assistant Vice Chief of Staff, U.S. Army. Prior assignments include Commanding General, U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command (USASSDC), headquartered in Arlington, Virginia; Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Force Development, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans, Washington, D.C. at the Pentagon; Deputy Commanding General, V Corps in Frankfurt Germany; and Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Air Defense School.
In January 2003, General Garner was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Defense to organize and direct the Office of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance (ORHA) for post-war Iraq. His extensive experience in the region goes back to 1991 when he was appointed Commanding General, Joint Task Force Bravo for Operation Provide Comfort in northern Iraq. Under his leadership, a coalition of American, British, French and Italian forces provided humanitarian relief assistance to the Iraqi Kurds.
Ahmed S. Said - Director
Mr. Said is a Professional Engineer and his background includes operational and senior management roles in the oil & gas industry both domestically and internationally. His recent focus has included corporate strategy development and host government negotiations. He is concurrently the President & CEO of Longford Energy Inc. and the President Oil & Gas Group of Forbes & Manhattan Inc., a private merchant bank. He is also the director of several public and private companies. Mr. Said holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Calgary, Canada.
Stan Bharti - Director
Mr. Bharti is the President of Forbes & Manhattan Inc. He has over 25 years of business, management and financial experience. Over the last ten years, Mr. Bharti has been involved in the creation, acquisition, restructuring, and financing of a large number of resource companies globally. Transactions have included acquisitions in Europe, Australia, Africa, and North America. He holds two Masters of Science degrees in Mining Engineering from Moscow, Russia and London, England.
Tito Gandhi - Director
Mr. Gandhi has more than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, business operator and investor. During his career, he has bought, restructured and sold a number of private companies. Tito was the founder, President and CEO of the Office Solutions Group, a technology solution provider that was acquired in 2004 by OCE Imaging, a $2.5 billion business technology integrator from the Netherlands.
John Abizaid - Director
General Abizaid retired from the United States Army in May, 2007, after thirty-four years of active service where he rose to Four-Star General in the Army. During a distinguished career, he commanded units at every level, serving in the combat zones of Grenada, Lebanon, Kurdistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq. He studied at the University of Jordan in Amman, holds a master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University, and is widely considered to be an expert in the field of Middle Eastern affairs. General Abizaid serves as the Distinguished Chair of the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and serves as a Director of the George Olmsted Foundation.
